Candy and 3
Hey well i fell off the wagon- i ate all that Easter candy i got at church last night =O
But i did manage to eat healthy other than that and also get my 3 miles in!
Breakfast: Strawberry honey bunches of oats and milk
Lunch: a bite (literally) of eggs and grits, and a carrot, water, and a yogurt.
Dinner: a choc. chunk chewy granola bar, and a bowl of Asian flavored vegetables over rice, with cheese all over it.
The End. Oh wait, i watched the last and final episode they made (on youtube) of As Told by Ginger! it was the most amazing thing ever!! :) loved every minute of it. esp. the surprise flash-forward ending. it makes me look forward to whats ahead in life. <3
And it taught me a lesson in life- whatever is worth it, wont be easy, but if you work at it, and achieve it, its worth it in the end. <3

Easter night at church
Hi
For breakfast I had what I had the other day- egg substitute (egg whites without the yolk) cooked in coconut oil, covered in cheddar sprinkle cheese, and a vanilla yogurt. for lunch I just had maybe 2 medium sized pancakes, with a minimum amount of syrup, and a small amount of grits with butter and salt (mom had bought the unsalted butter accidentally :P ) and i also added some of that Taco Bell mild sauce. it was good like that.
So far ive had 3 chocolate chip cookies we made yesterday, and now theyre all gone. thank goodness! ;)
For dinner ill have some yogurt and some snack foods at church- were having this Easter fun night.
Exercise: I did the whole walk away the pounds dvd!
its 3 miles of walking, in a fun cardio walking program, ive already said this before im sure. but i usually only get like 1 1/2 - 2 miles each day. so im trying to do 3 miles each day now.
thats all!

Human video practice + COOKIESSS
Hey so this morning mom and i got up and made chocolate chip cookies! they were a hit at human video practice earlier at church. :) the secret is Tollhouse chocolate chips, oh and the recipe on the back of them. ;)
So for breakfast, i had 2 awesome fluffy eggs (well technically its that egg substitute) and basically thats egg whites. but anyway i cooked it in lots of extra virgin coconut oil (not too much but ya know what i mean) and boy did it give it great flavor! i topped it with cheddar sprinkle cheese, and it was great.
I walked 1 1/2 miles, just like yesterday, with that program, WATP
for lunch, well i had cookies :O sheepish i am cause i know im not supposed to be eating junk food! but at least i had the egg with coconut oil (much less fattening than veg oil- might want to consider it!) and cheese (protein) and not bread (carbs) when you go on a diet you need to eat protein, and some fats, believe it or not. you do not, i repeat not want to fill up on carbs (potatoes, bread, pasta) unless your a football player or something.
and eat till your quite full (protein) like good sources of protein is (lean meats- not for vegetarians though) and cheese and eggs and milk (dairy) and peanut butter, beans (the kind that are mushy inside, and not green beans i dont think) and then of course you want to eat lots of veggies, and stay away from too much fruit- unhealthy sugars- in moderation fruit is of course, good for you. great source of vitamins etc.
and eating citrus reduces your risk of scurvy! haha some humor there.
anyway i also had exercise practicing my tap dancing, and human video practice at church... well not too much there ;) so for dinner i had half a thing of vanilla yogurt, and a salad, and a burrito. :)
and for dessert.... the dreaded COOKIE! haha:)
snacks- Ocean spray Cherry juice infused Craisins (dried cranberries) pretty good. next time all try maybe the original flavor, or pomegranate, or blueberry.
ok well, all for today, Joy hollingsworthMonday, April 18, 2011

Today i had a blueberry muffin with milk for breakfast. I then had a dentist appointment for a teeth cleaning. afterwards, and after 20 min. after they applied that fluoride stuff, we went to Sam's Club. I ate a slice of cheese pizza, some of a 4-berry fruit sundae :) ... and the best thing ive tasted in a while: a double-twisted churro <3 <3 <3
It was hot, doughy in the middle, and covered in cinnamon sugar. Oh my tastebuds! haha
for a snack i made my own delicious strawberry smoothie <3 and then for dinner i had Birdseye Italian blend steamed vegetables, and organic pinto beans.
Ive fallen off the wagon a bit with eating healthy- somewhat at least- since i havent been eating meat, ive had somewhat of an addiction for sugarrrrr
oh so two bits of news i found out at the dentist:
possibly braces, and possibly another root canal- with a crown- on the same tooth but opposite side i already had that done on.
anywayy this is for yesterday, today is Friday, and i couldnt publish it yesterday, it wouldnt let me for some reason.
but i have Easter choir on sunday, and my tap recital coming up not next saturday, but the one after. and tonight i have a tap class, and tomorrow a prophet of baal practice. and today ive been making up lots of schoolwork.
well, off i pop! (i gotta go now)
oh but first...

Awesome food choices :)
Hey!
I am going to dance in a bit, then coming back and having a pizza/movie night with the family <3
We found this new thing- Its Digorno's (or however u spell it) cheese pizza, and includes Nestle Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies that u can bake along with the pizza!! Genius idea! Entree + Dessert in same package.
So thats what were having for dinner, and for lunch, I had a Morningstar Chik Pattie on a whole grain flatbread bun, with ranch {Ooh Ooh YUM} ;)
For breakfast we had these Morningstar biscuits that are filled with egg, cheese, and veggie meat crumbles.
and also an apple danish.
Snacks: well those evil cookies are gone (evil because of the addictive fat xD )
You know I have 2 hamsters- Abbot and Costello, Winter white Russian dwarf hamsters. We got home from a couple errands this morning, and I was in my room, and I saw something run across the floor in the opening of my door. It was Costello! (the fast skinnier one) Ive heard those kind were escape artists, but really! They have two towels over their cage, and also their cage is about a foot high up, and its flat plastic. with one ridge in the middle but thats it. Idk how they get up there, but maybe they climb up on their little igloo house or their wheel- but I doubt the wheel theory- too spinny. Now, if the towels were dipped in the cage, they can get out with standing on their igloo, but their towels were flat across the cage, but with the middle dipped in a bit. Abbot (hes a bit chubby- like in the show too! xD) i love him tho hes more gentle, and funny too- they both are though lol. :)
oh but anyway, just 5 minutes ago, they got out again! but, instead of going anywhere, they were both underneath the first towel! chewing on it. Haha
And idk how they would get underneath the towel, or want too, if they were escaping. The towels are directly in line with each other.
One more crazy fact about them, they can both climb a brick wall! xD
Ive seen it with my own eyes on our brick steps.
More another time, Later! -Joy

And also a Monster Energy <3 It's the "good kind" - the Absolutely Zero. <3 Its supposed to fight fatigue, improves mental performance and focus, and motivates you to work and play harder.
Good right? ;)
Ok, I just checked the online petition against P&G, it had 127 signatures! OH YEA!

Audition!!
Hey
Yesterday- Sunday i mean, i had an egg sandwich for breakfast, not much for lunch, then we had dinner at church- potluck! and i stayed strong in my veggieness :) there was bacon and chicken and lots of meat, but there were many un-meaty things too! so yay
We brought macaroni salad, and these Oreo balls everyone loves- i didn't that much at first, but now, i love them!
i was thinking of bringing some to church Wednesday, but there aren't many left!!
We made 2 kinds- the kind with regular Oreos, and the kind with peanut butter filled Oreos.
Today i had Kashi cereal for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and for dinner, Taco Bell [nachos, a bean/cheese burrito, and my dad made me a homemade cheese quesadilla also]
for snacks I've had rice cakes, and those Oreo balls- they're addictive!!
If u put one in the microwave for like 6 seconds, it makes it good too.

In other news, earlier tonight i went and auditioned for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe play (C.S. Lewis is the author of the books- Disney has also made some of his books into movies) i totally love Narnia stuff.
I didn't make callbacks, so i think that means I'm not going to be in the play.
I was disappointed because i love the Narnia books and movies and it would be awesome to be in the play. I would have been fine as a dryad, or whatever else they had in the female mythical creature dept.
Lol well anyway, I better finish my homework!
PS- the petition against Proctor and Gamble (P&G) is going great! 95 signatures! from people i don't know!
all over the world.
We in my church youth group have started practicing different acrobatic/moves for human videos, which we will be able to come up with soon, for church services, AND Fine Arts next year.
We just went to this year's fine arts festival this past weekend- i sang a vocal solo, and danced a worship dance solo.
I didn't advance to nationals or get an award, but 2 people in my youth group did, and I'm happy for them! There's always next year!
Tomorrow there is a vegan potluck meeting i was thinking about going to.
Write later! Joy

GRANDE SIZED MEAL DAY!
Today for breakfast, we went to IHOP =D
Twas yummehh! I had the special where you get two buttermilk pancakes, 2 sausage links (which I gave to Dad), a big bowl of grits :) and 2 scrambled eggs. I had fresh orange juice with it as well.
That was sort of a brunch.
Then for dinner I had two taco sandwiches!
I toasted the bread, sprinkled cheddar cheese on them, melted the cheese, spread sour cream on, and added lettuce and salsa :)
SO good!
For dessert I had a brownie
Then I went to my Firebird/Prophets of Baal practice.
Afterwards we went and got a bean/cheese burrito :D at Taco Bell, and also a baked apple pie at McDonald's
And I am about to have a few sips of orange juice, then getting to bed early!
This weekend is Fine Arts, and Im doing a worship dance solo and vocal solo, so if you can pray, that would be great!
I dont do too well in the mornings with singing, or talking for that matter, esp. without having the ability to practice with a microphone saturday morning :(
But Im trusting God to help me :)
Goodnight! Joy
ps- i know that was a lot of stuff to eat! Grande sized! haha but they say, u can eat anything u want once a week as long as u stick to eating healthy the rest of the week!

A GREAT DAY
Hey!
I tried to post a post yesterday, but it wouldn't let me! I had a whole thing! :P errgg
But anyway, Today has been a very good and productive day...
For breakfast: a piece of toast spread with peanut butter,
For lunch: a salad, and a cup of Dannon Activia Vanilla yogurt,
For dinner I will have either macaroni and cheese or a serving of 5 cheese lasagna, with a salad.
And for snacks, we have oranges and rice cakes <3
I had one rice cake today.
In exercise news: me and my Mom started this dvd program called "Walk away the pounds", which is great!
So anyway, let me remind you (or tell you if I haven't already) about this very important cause of mine.
I have made an online petition, to boycott Proctor & Gamble, or, P&G, and their products, if you can, because they test their products, chemicals and ingredients on animals, like bunnies, rats, mice, hamsters...
People from all over the world are even signing! in 3 days the petition accumulated 50 or so signatures!
So please sign, and inform your friends too!
Thanks, your vegetarian, Joy

slacking
Ok so I've slacked on this blog for a couple of days- so I'll start back on today.
Well one thing before today's meals- yesterday I went to a tap make up class, so for breakfast, we went to burger king- too bad it wasnt breakfast- so I ordered a veggie burger- yes, they have them, but they're not listed on the menu. I don't think..
So anyway, I had a sprite and fries too, which I saved for lunch break, which consisted of those, and a 3 musketeer bar :) my new favorite candy bar!
Ok, so this morning I had hot English breakfast tea, with an egg on toast.
For lunch we came home and had salads, with those Morningstar chik'n strips. Not toooo tasty. But okay. And with potato chips.
For dinner I had a caramel ice cream sundae - the ones at BK (burger king) are great
and yeah that's not too nutritious, I know.
And now Im making brownies.
You know how when you don't have dessert in the house u wish u did, and when you have a lot u kinda wish u didn't? Yeahhh.
Ok well in other news,
I made an online petition! For the boycotting of products that test their products and ingredients on animals!
Its not just "on" either, they also inject things into the poor creatures.
So if you will, SIGN! :)
http://apps.facebook.com/petitions/takeaction/217/767/484/
theres the facebook page for it.
Anyway its boycotting mainly the company family of Proctor and Gamble.
Ive researched it, and I know you can't believe everything people say, but there are a lot of things out there that say they test their stuff on animals.
:( so sad
So thanks! ttyl, Joy

Wednesday, That's all I have to say.
Hey
This morning for breakfast, I had an egg on toast with fire roasted salsa. For lunch I had a special kind of oatmeal with cinnamon and apples in it. It was okay.
For dinner, before I went to church tonight, I had a peanut butter sandwich.
When I got home I ate some steamed/with sauce veggies.
For snacks I had mini milky way bars.
Yeah, I know I've veered off the path of salads, but we haven't bought any more lettuce lately. FYI, Not My Fault! [remember that off of one of the Shrek movies? Said by Prince Charming. LOL]
Anyway, at least I'm keeping up with this blog and not eating meat!!
Except for that one shrimp dish (not meat! shellfish!)
Haha anyway, Ill write back later! J

Food Food Food - 2 days worth!
Yesterday and today, I ate Kashi cereal (the usual) for breakfast.
I also ate the same thing for lunch both days- an egg roll/spring roll.
For dinner yesterday, I went to pizza hut for a surprise birthday party :) I had 4 pieces of pizza [3 of which were my favorite- green pepper and extra cheese {YUM} ] and a chocolate cupcake with green icing which was good also. I had water to drink.
Tonight, before I went to dance, I went to McDonald's, got a salad (not the fancy kind, with meat lol, sorta like a side salad), and with it I ate fries, and a baked apple pie thing they have.
Then I went to dance, had ballet, Firebird practice, and tap, then went and got another apple pie thing.
Went home, and now I am about to have a scrambled egg on toast with this fire roasted salsa. Mmm Mmm Good! :]
So hopefully, I can use this new stroke of genius drawing ;) and work on it! [I say that because when I was younger I was pretty good at drawing - people and such, but then I got bad at drawing, and today I was drawing pretty well! ;) ]
So, tip of the week, find a good book that you liked as a kid, and inspire yourself!
Goodnight!! -Joy

Another little thing you might care to know, or not, is that I've always wanted to write a children's picture book or something like that. Ive had a few ideas, and one was really good, and one time wrote a series of stories.
The other day I went to the library and got a bunch of good books, including 2 in the Animal Ark series, which is about animals, caring for animals, and veterinarians, etc.
I read some of them in elementary school, but I still enjoy :)
Then I got one in a series that I found a long time ago, called Ivy and Bean. I love how the characters are illustrated, and today I drew a few scenes/situations in a kids book that was based off of the inspiration I got from the illustrations in that book. Then after I drew that one picture, a story came to me that I could write about it, including the picture (it would be placed sorta in the middle of the story) if you get what I'm saying. So hopefully, I can use this new stroke of genius drawing ;) and work on it! Too many snacks!
Hi!
Today for breakfast I had scrambled eggs and a vegetarian maple-flavored sausage, with water.
For lunch, after church, we went to Sam's Club, and I got a slice of cheese pizza, and coke/diet coke (half of each) and had a bunch of samples too :)
For dinner, lets see, I had a baked potato with sour cream, and cooked up some leftover frozen asparagus stir-fry which I had yesterday also.
For snacks, well, Ive been snacking on mini eclairs all day!! :P
Too many of those!
I went to walmart and saw a couple swimsuit tops I loved (tankinis ;) )
And I witnessed to someone, and God really did something in her life!
It was awesome!
Oh plus I had to do a lot of makeup algebra. :P
Oh well
Pretty great day I would say.
Ive been practicing my song for Fine Arts :) so hopefully Ill be ready to sing it next Sunday, and also in a couple weeks for Fine Arts.
Goodnight all! -Joy

New combinations
Hi Yall :)
Well for breakfast today I had Kashi Currant and Walnut cereal.
For Lunch I had a veggie spring roll.
For dinner, I looked in the freezer at all those bags of frozen vegetables, and whaddya know? I found a yummy asparagus stir-fry, and it opened up my world! :) hehe
It was very good, with asparagus, cauliflower, carrots, green beans, and pasta :)
I put a little coconut oil in the pan (1 or 2 teaspoons), and then cooked it up (took about 6 minutes) and when it was almost done, I shook some Worcester sauce in. Then a minute later I took it off, dished it out, shook a bit of salt on, and voila! :) It was SO good! :)
Im beginning to LOVE veggies!!
I had a pear for a snack earlier.
Also, I walked 1600 steps on the Wii :)
Good for me! Haha
The photos include the yummy steaming stir-fry in the pan, and me eating it :) Ciao, Joy

Lots of exercise, and almost sticking to the veg.
Hey
Well today I hiked around a mountain (a strenuous trail at that) but I made it! (and i wasnt even in shape. well i want to keep doing it because we saw some great sights!)
For breakfast, well, i really didn't have anything.
For lunch we stopped by a place called Ruby's.
I had a big salad- pretty good- but without the chicken ;) and also french fries <3
then for dinner I had mexican food- I side-stepped my eating plan by getting Shrimp fried rice.
I said that when I went to a restauraunt i would get seafood if they didnt have much else except pork, beef, and chicken lol.
But they did have a tasty looking vegetarian menu- next time Ill eat from that.
Tonight I just wanted something good after hiking 4.5 miles!
So thats it!
oh- snacks were: some granola bar, a pear, and parts of candy bars lol.
your vegetarian, Joy

A few make up days ;) with PHOTOS
Yesterday I didn't have time to write, so I'll just tell you what I ate yesterday, along with today's entry.
For breakfast yesterday AND today, I had scrambled eggs (a couple) with a Morningstar Maple flavored sausage patty (vegetarian style of course) ;)
Then for lunch yesterday (I had a late lunch) I had a vegetable spring roll. Today I'm having a very green salad ;) [lettuce, green pepper, and cucumber, oh and low fat Italian dressing (we had bought it by mistake lol)] with strawberries {YUM}
for dinner yesterday I actually had a bunch of KK donut holes (thanks Auntie! for ruining my diet that is! JK haha - loved them!) That was my 'sugar splurge' of the week lol :)
And for dinner tonight I'll have a garden veggie burger on a bun [we're out of flatbreads :( ]
with cheese and lettuce :) and water. and strawberries {yumm}
For snacks, I guess all we have is fruit (out of rice cakes :( )
And that's it!
The photos in this post include todays lunch, and the day before yesterday's lunch (I found the pic!)
The one from the other day has those Vegetarian chikn strips (they werent very chicken-like :P )

The start of a new life.
Hi there.
My name is Joy.
My name is Joy.
I am making this blog to tell about my vegetarian lifestyle.
I started just this week, and I am very excited.
I'll tell you a few facts about me first.
I'm a Christian, and love God with all my heart <3
I'm a dancer [I take ballet and tap, and love it!]
I am homeschooled, but next year I would love to go to my nearest High School.
I live in the states, but really want to visit Europe, Israel, and Africa.
I love to knit. I am forever starting projects when I have about 6 others that I've started and never finished!
I guess i get bored of them, or think of other things I can make... but usually, I go back and work on them... after leaving them in the closet for months. Even years.
But mostly not years.
So I am going to be blogging about my new lifestyle as a vegetarian.
Hopefully I will not give up on it, like I have with my other few blogs that started. Ehh well, they didn't really keep up with my changing lifestyle. But, as a vegetarian, I doubt very seriously that I will ever go back to eating meat. For a longggg time at least.
You are probably wondering why I have become a vegetarian.
Well, I want to be healthy. I want to be thin [I'm at a healthy weight, but I would like to improve myself], and I have never loved the look of naked chickens (slimy :P ) or ground up cows at the grocery store. Its so cruel what people still put animals through.
Also, you might want to know what kind of vegetarian I am. I eat cheese, drink milk, eat sour cream (dairy products) I do not eat chicken or beef or pork (no meat), and I don't usually eat fish a lot anyways. I might every now and then, every once in a blue moon. If there was nothing to eat at a restaurant but meat, I would go for the fish. (see what I'm saying) oh yes, and I will be eating vegetarian substitute meat- ground beef, chicken strips, chicken patties, sausage- all not meat- its probably made of soy, legumes (green beans and such), beans, vegetables, and all natural stuff, etc.
My parents have been eating like vegetarians these past days too, with me making meals and us having lots of veggies and fruits in the fridge, and no meat in our house. :)
I am not however planning on making this blog very complicated.
I will mostly be writing an entry/post (hopefully every day) and posting photos about what I had for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks that day, and little details that go with them.
So hopefully you will find it interesting, inspiring, and diverting.
I will not be starting today, with the pics, I mean, because I could not find the photos on my camera.
But I'll tell you what Ive had... [below]
-Breakfast: Kashi cereal and milk. {Mmmm}
-Lunch: a Salad with Morningstar vegetarian chicken substitute (the chicken was a bit weird), cheddar sprinkle cheese, and sour cream (I know it's not all that healthy- but we ran out of salad dressing) {Salad=YUM} with a glass of water, and a bowl of strawberries and grapes.
-Dinner: I will have a vegetarian chicken patty (from Morningstar- they are SO good) on a flatbread, with lettuce and cheddar sprinkle cheese. {YUM} with a glass of water
-Snack: a low salt rice cake {YUM}
